Create a Stable Base for Improved Driving

Striking solidly hit drives requires a solid base to swing from. Developing this base requires balance and practice. Obtaining this balance is easy with one simple drill that you can do anywhere, even right before a shot.

Try hitting some shots with your feet together. Take your regular stance and line up to the ball. For right handers take your right foot and bring it up against your left. Make sure you always move your back foot, otherwise you'll end up swaying into the ball.

Take a few practice strokes if you need too. Now try to hit a few shots. If you can learn to stay in balance while swinging with your feet together you'll create a super solid base when your feet are apart in a normal stance.

Establishing a solid base with this drill will allow you to drive the ball with maxiumum clubhead speed without losing control.
